Callback set-up

You can enable your system to provide a delivery acknowledgement for each of your messages to the intended mobile phone. For this feature to work you will need to:

  1. Setup the Callback database installed in your smsPULSE directory on your Domino server
  2. Enable Callback on the smsPULSE website
  3. Allow users to request delivery confirmation
Note: the sms.ACK database must be served on a Domino web server, allowing anonymous author access.


Pulling Delivery confirmations
From smsPULSE V7, you can obtain delivery confirmation by setting smsPULSE to pull status for the SMSC gateway in use.
In the system profile, gateway tab, set the option as follows:


Configuring the Callback database
Open the "sms.ACK" database on the "smspulse" directory. The database is automatically created once you run the smsPULSE add-in.

Click on the System ID button and fill-in the ID. You can find the ID by viewing the smsPULSE status on the Domino Console (type: tell smspulse st)

Login to the smsPULSE.com dashboard and click on Set Callback:


Next, fill in the data below:

The system will respond if all is OK or not.

Allowing users to request Callback
Open the system profile and select the option below:

Users will now see a new option when the SMS form is used.

Note: For programmatic control over Callback, see the Help Document on the smsPULSE API.

Note: If you send a message to smsPULSE and have enabled Callback, using the standard email option of "Return Receipt" will enable the feature for the message.
