Supported GSM Devices
You will need to connect your GSM device through a COM port, normally using a serial cable. If you have USB devices these normally come with USB-to-COM device drivers. Hand held cell phones may work, but rarely for inbound text (they do not "inform" our software). You may also use TAPI devices from Version 4.

Recommended devices are:
Siemens TC35i, MC35
Siemens TC65
Please note that we sell complete modem bundles at near cost price to smsPULSE clients only.

MMS
To send MMS messages your device must be able to support GPRS. For better speed, a 3G device is recommended.

If your device fails to accept incoming SMS, please perform the following steps:
  1. Exit the smsPULSE GSM Setup application
  2. Connect to your GSM device using a program like HyperTerminal (for Windows Vista you will have to find a download)
  3. Ensure the speed of the device is set to 115200 for Siemens TC65, or similar
  4. Once you connect to the device, send the following commands:

To see what you type, issue the following AT command:
ATE1
Then...
AT+CPMS="SM","SM","SM"
After the response, type this command...
AT+CPMS="MT","MT","MT"

From V8 you should not need to perform the settings if you use the new smsLINES MMS service, including when forcing the service when not using MMS
